The Gaza Strip was today hit by an Israeli airstrike, which has been said to be a retaliatory strike against the military forces of Hamas for a rocket strike that hit Israel. Fighter aircraft of Israeli air force struck two factories that were suspected of manufacturing weapons and a supply tunnel.

The attack on the Gaza Strip left seven people dead including one seriously and was carried out by the Israeli Defense Forces despite confirmations made by the Palestinian leadership that the military factions of Palestine will not be undertaking any rocket attacks anymore.

Ever since the massive military campaign that was carried out by Israeli armed forces in Gaza in the beginning of this year, Palestine has been reeling from the aftermaths of the devastating battle between Hamas and Israeli Defense Forces. To ensure that, no more airstrikes or any sort of attack is carried out by Israel, the Palestinian authority had announced a ceasefire in the provocative rocket attacks from Hamas.

The Israeli offensive campaign was carried out largely because of the relentless rocket fire carried out by Hamas, during which, 1,400 Palestinians were killed and a large areas of the state was destroyed. Ever since the cessation in Israeli campaign, the military wing of the Palestinian authority, Hamas has all but entirely stopped its offensive rocket attacks. Still, there still are several terror outfits operating inside Palestine, that conduct sporadic rocket fire into the heart of Israel.
