Well, how many times has it happened to you, that get on the stage with your band to perform and at the vary last moment, you find that, your guitar is out of tune and you hardly have any time left to conduct the tuning process. Kind of an embarrassing moment isn’t it. However, Gibson, the leading manufacturer of guitars in the world has unveiled an all new guitar, The Dark Fire, that automatically tunes itself as per player’s requirements.
The Dark Fire series of electric guitars was release in the year 2008 and the newest model is part of Gibson’s “robot guitar” program, with the help of which the all new Dark Fire now has the capability of self tuning. The self tuning function of the new electric guitar is now available with sixteen factory installed presets that take care of virtually all necessary tunings, whether it be Standard E, Drop C or the extreme Drop D tuning.
Gibson Dark Fire electric guitar is available for $3,477 and also comes with an onboard tone control that provides the players with an unique opportunity to play out different sorts of guitar tones from the Dark Fire, thus theoretically, nearly eliminating the need of rhythm or a second guitarist.
The Dark Fire’s digital strings are battery powered, that can be recharged while playing, as the batteries take the power from the input jack. As of now, the number of Dark Fore electric guitars sold is not yet certain, but Gibson has already announced its plans of launching a brand new model, named Dark Tiger on December 7th, 2009.
