Borderline personality and movies are closely related. It is because of the disturbed personality that many directors have gone ahead to create and make films that have been watched over and again in order to connect with the characters in the movie who have been afflicted with sort of personality ailment. One of the most poignant movie is the Girl Interrupted, which tells the story of Susan, a Borderline Personality Disordered writer.

The character has been played by Winona Ryder and it has become a cult movie with people from all walks of life and those who have gone through pain, promiscuity and emotional disturbance have liked it. However, BPD always seems to be either glorified or stereotyped in movies.

BPD is like any other illness and there are no rules as to how a person must behave if they are suffering from BPD. Perhaps, movie directors and others must pay attention to this fact and make movies that are more emotionally sensitive and acceptable. However, Girl interrupted is a movie that is worth being watched.
