The founder of one of the biggest and most successful e-mail services, Gmail has finally decided to give a try to Google’s latest service, Google Wave, which an online tool for real time communication and collaboration. This service provides the users with the ability of working together with other users via interactive media factors such as, text, photos, videos, maps etc.

Paul Buchheit, who is also known to be the brains behind the creation of the legendary Gmail, found Google Wave to be both helpful to the users as well as requiring additional features. Comparing Wave to Gmail, Paul stated that, the Gmail team had implemented various features during the beginning of the service but these features did not see the light of day, due to the lack of compatible interfaces. This could be the one reason that Google Wave has been launched in the “Preview Release” version.

He believes that Google Wave has been launched with all the features in the package and these features will be refined and tweaked over time, till the moment the service is absolutely ready for a complete launch. Paul did however, comment on a key aspect of Google Wave which is the real time capabilities of the. The chat boxes in the service though resembles that Gmail and still tend to create confusion for the users as Google keeps updating them on a real time basis, thus creating a paradox, where the continuation of the chat is broken and the conversation becomes meaningless.
