Abu Dhabi International Airport in its latest initiative has introduced the ‘Go Sleep’ state of the art chair that converts into a private flat bed. The Abu Dhabi Airports Company, which is responsible for operating the airport, is consistently striving to enhance the experience of passengers travelling through the airport. Ten of the innovative sleeping pods have already been installed in Terminal 3 and in the Al Dhabi Lounge in Terminal 1. Orders have already been placed for installing further 35 pods during the year. The stylish sleeping pods have been designed by a Finnish company.
Abu Dhabi is the First Airport to Introduce Such Service
The sleeping pods have been designed in such a way that they are easy to operate. The pods come with a sliding shade that enables the user to isolate himself from noise, light and crowds. The development work is still going on and the chairs will be upgraded to provide internet access and space for storing luggage and other valuables. The pods will feature inbuilt charging docks for laptops, mobile telephones, and other electronic devices. The sleeping pods will be available to the passengers at an hourly rate of AED45. Mohammed Al Bulooki, Chief Commercial Officer of ADAC believes that this initiative will exceed customer’s expectation as it is the first airport to introduce such technologically advanced service.
