Apparently, there is a new Singularity University, which is being chaired by Raymond Kurzweil. The idea of the University is to study and prepare for the day when machines, computers, and robots will be smarter than humans. Interestingly, Google has backed the idea and is ’supporting’ the ‘University’ to conduct such studies. Now I have used quotes for both the words because the Singularity University is not an accredited university and we don’t know how Google is supporting or helping this group of wackos.

It may certainly be possible for the machines to get smarter. That indeed is a scary thought and reminds me of the Chemical Brothers’ ‘Believe’ video. Google is certainly being Elitist in saying that machines will soon be smarter than humans.

Google recently had a couple of technical glitches, which were blamed on humans. This comes to the second part of the argument. Is Google being run by a group of androids in the guise of humans? You never know, that could be possible too. I hope in my lifetime, I stay smarter than my computer or laptop, and that I know when to turn it off or on, instead of me being told what to do by an android.
