In what seems to be the overburdening online support officials for the Nexus One smartphone, Google Inc. it seems is looking towards a traditional call center style phone support for all Nexus One and Google Android users. In a recent job opportunity advertisement, it seems that Google is looking for phone customer support managers, where in the relevant candidate would have to create and manage telephone support for Android and the Nexus One users.

So far, Google has declined to respond to nay inquiries in regards to the phone support initiative and it is also yet unclear as to whether Google will handle the entire project all by itself, or will outsource to a third party call center as done numerous companies. The intensity at which the Android and Nexus One are catching up to the consumers and their exponentially increasing popularity, has made it crucial for Google to set up a phone support for the users, as again the current e-mail resolutions that, take at least two working days for Google to respond to any query or concern. Soon after the launch of the Nexus One in early January this year, the consumers when faced with some concern or the other contacted T-Mobile for a resolution, but were directed to HTC, that in turn again sent them back to T-Mobile. Such kind of shuttling of customers could prove fatal for the business prospects for any company and in the case of Google, setting up of a dedicated phone support for the Android and Nexus One users would definitely be smart thing to do.

According to Katie Watson (Spokeswoman, Google)

“We continue to address all issues in as timely of a manner as possible, and we’re flexible and prepared to make changes to our processes and tools, as necessary, for an optimal customer support experience.”
