In January 2008, Google launched a unique search service known as, Google Blog Search. This nifty new search apparatus indexed all blogs and posts from all over web and as per the users’ queries, displayed results that directed the users to the blogs that had the specific information.

However, with RSS and Atom feeds taking over email subscription, many users felt outdated as far as information was concerned and request started flooding into Google, to add feeds to its Blog Search. Now, Google has finally added the RSS and Atom feeds feature to Google blog Search service, Now users can get direct feeds from the Blog Search service, by clicking on the on the links under “Subscribe” section, that is located on the left side pane of the page. Users, then can read these feeds with the help of feed readers such as Google reader.

For all those users, who do not use feed readers, Google has created an all new iGoogle gadget, that would enable them to embed the Google Blog Search feeds in their personalized iGoogle page. With the help of this ‘widget’, users can browse and read about the topics of their interest and can also personalize the widget itself, to follow only the stories and posts that interest them.

Another feature that Google has implemented in the Google Blog Search is the ‘Hot Queries’, this ‘hot’ feature shows the most followed and the most popular topics in Blog Search. Last but not the least, Google has added, ‘Latest Posts’ feature shows the newest posts from the most acclaimed blogs. This in turn keeps the users of Blog Search a step ahead of others, as they get to know about news and events even before they hit the masses.
