Google’s much awaited visual search tool, Google Goggles has been launched via the Google Labs and is expected to make its way to various online platforms, including Apple’s App Store. The application will be officially introduces after its trail run in the Google Android store. As of now only those users who own Android powered handsets will be able to take advantage of this unique feature.

To take advantage of Google Goggles, all a user has to do is to take picture, upload the image and Goggles will search for results relevant to the image. There reason behind Google’s affiliation to Android is that, the developers currently working for Google are much more convenient working on Google Android than on the other platforms. Furthermore, Google wants this revolutionary new service to be at its best, it is introduced in the mainstream market.

According to Hugo Barra (Google),

“Our mission is to make all the world’s information available to everyone – and that means whatever device they are using. When we believed that its gotten to the point that it works really well for a significant amount of queries we will add it to the Google Mobile App.”

As of now, Google plans to keep the Goggles service confined to the Android market and continue testing and gathering feedback on the new feature.
