BirdONS Google To Jump Into Real Time Navigation

With the launch and successful running of Google Android mobile operating system and Google’s increasing presence in the mobile device industry, numerous navigation service providers firmly believe that, Google is about to make navigation service market a lot more competitive, as it might be in the process of launching an Google navigation application for mobile devices.

Such companies also speculate that, Google will most definitely put such an application as a free for all for all users, thereby literally yanking almost all paid services out of business. As it is, Google Maps that offer a wealth of information for just about every place on this planet, have already become immensely popular with the mobile users.

According to many to of the line navigation service providers, Google will not only launch such an application for free, but will also ensure that, it earn lots of revenues by opening the navigation application for the advertisers as well. Such a move will not be bad one, as the advertisers will have much more information about the user, to target advertisements, because the app will be providing current locations and the routes most frequented by the users.

According to Steve Andler (Vice President, Networks In Motion),

“Google has clearly been investing in mapping, Carriers totally control what’s on these devices. But if Google controls the operating system, the carriers won’t be able to get rid of its services, including a navigation app.”
