In its continuing efforts to move over Microsoft Corporation, which is one of the oldest internet entities, Google Inc, has set in motion its plans to create an online apps store, that would target third party software for businesses, thus consolidating these software with its own web services. As per the sources close to the project, Google will act as a retail for the software developed by outside developers, that will then be used to integrate Google Apps and provides enhanced features to the web application.
Google Apps has been one of the most widely used online services across the web and is largely targeted towards businesses providing them with a variety of office suite services via Google Apps. The launch of the all new Google Solutions Marketplace could be in effect as early as March 2010 and the platform is said to provide the businesses with critical functions such as enhanced security features as well as the ability to import contacts, among other features. The all new app store will allow users to buy Google partnered software designed and developed by third party developers, where in Google will keep a share of the sales and share the rest with its partners.
This all new initiative from Google is being viewed as one of the boldest attempts to outlast Microsoft Corp. and if successful, it could provide a crucial platform for the company, running along side its online advertising business model.
