Google to Launch ‘Google Voice’ With 1 Million Phone Numbers.

Google doesn’t seem to take it slow, no matter what. Some time ago, Google announced that it was in the process of perfecting another feature, known as ‘Google Voice’. Google Voice is an innovative service that is capable of routing simultaneous incoming calls to multiple phones, dial phone numbers from Google Voice interface from a user’s PC, record voice mail that can be accessed online and much more. In all, Google Voice combines all your phone numbers and routes all calls coming to those numbers to a singular Google Voice number, and the calls are then routed to all those phones.

Now, Google Voice has assimilated 1 million phone numbers with the LEVEL 3 server, sparking speculations that, Google Voice might be launched very soon. LEVEL 3 has been in the process of providing Google with over 1 million phone numbers, thereby enabling Google Voice to add numerous users and phone numbers to its directory.

Google is pretty tight lipped on these developing events and would not give away any substantial information. A Google spokesperson said;

“As a matter of policy, we typically do not comment on contracts with third-party technology suppliers.”

Speculations have been circulating all over the web about the launch of Google Voice and many believe that it might be online as soon as June 18th, 2009. But, Google has refused to give away any information about its plans for Google Voice. An announcement from is Google is still awaited.

Google Voice boasts of numerous features including call transfer to multiple devices, display of voice calls as text messages, call transcriptions and multi-party conferencing among many others. Using VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocols), Google Voice is able to provide one unique number to a user and route all the calls from his other numbers to the Google Voice Number.

According to various reports, there is also the possibility of a user to use his existing cell phone number as his Google Voice Number and at the same time, avail all the great features provided by this service.
