Google Voice, that has become the talk of the town with its incredible communication services, has announced the launch of the much anticipated voice mail service for cell phones. This latest feature enables the users to forward incoming calls to their Google Voice accounts, where these calls will be answered by a voice mail.
However, the voice mail feature is only a part of the big picture. The users who wish to enjoy all the features provided by Google Voice, need to to apply for a Google Voice number, that would be associated with the user accounts. However, most of the users aren’t ready yet to dedicate all their communications to one agency. Therefore, Google has introduce the voice mail service. The users, who do not wish to acquire a Google number, will not be able to use a much advertised feature of Google Voice, where in their calls can be forwarded to their home or office numbers.
According to Vincent Paquet (Senior Product Manager, Google),
“We see this as a perfect step for getting familiar with Google Voice without a lot of change.”
As against other voice mail services that are being provided by wireless carriers, Google voice mail service offers some unique features, that makes Google’s service stand apart from others. One prominent features of Google voice mail, is the written transcript that it provides of the voice mail, along with the freedom given to the users, that allows them to customize their greetings for more frequent callers.
