Google has been the single most visited page on the Internet today. Google has no longer remained just the world’s most used search engine, but the company has acquired almost all the web applications, social networking sites, video and file uploading sites and in fact, it is not untrue to say that they rule the world wide web. The company has also experimented with software, and has been quite successful with their browsers, Android Operating System for phones and other such application.

Their phone is also quite popular. Now, the company has usurped all the other companies and diversified so much that the Internet is no longer a free place, but something that is under the clutches of Google, so to speak. The company certainly provides the best Internet applications and search results but what baffles me is the fact they OWN the Internet!

In such a circumstance, any damage done by the company and any policy change made by them will severely affect Internet and the users’ lives. Users like me almost feel insecure that one has to live in a cyberspace that is controlled by just one corporate company. Anything that is invincible becomes dictatorial. Google may not be an exception either.
