The Japanese are known for their quirky tastes, and it shouldn’t be surprising that the first post in the ‘bizarre’ category has to be from the Japanese land. This weird looking restaurant intends to educate the patrons about carbon footprints and what you could do to lessen the burden on mother earth. The Naha Harbor Diner offers farm fresh vegetables, fruits, pork and chicken.

I have a doubt though. If the pork has to be farm fresh, does the banyan tree contain a pigsty in its backyard? And I can’t seem to locate the sty! The faux-tree is intended to educate the patrons about sustainability, and I demand to know how. Meanwhile, I must say the restaurant looks cool and weird enough to make people take a look inside and order a quick bite.

So, the next time you are in Japan, make sure you at least get a glimpse of the bizarre hotel, even if you don’t have a taste for farm fresh pork served in the middle of a metro.
