It is said that, marriages are made in heaven and if that’s true, then it is also true that, while people enter into holy matrimonial alliances in front of the Almighty, they also plan to visit the next best phenomenon in the earthly realm, called Facebook, to announce their wedding. Such is the case of a wedding ceremony where a groom took out his cell phone and logged on to Facebook to change his status update to “Married” right in the middle of the ceremony.

This one of a kind wedding was equally reciprocated by the bride as well, who followed suite and updated her status on Facebook as well. Nowadays, even the traditional wedding ceremonies have gone immensely hi-tech with last invitations being sent by e-mails and by the means of social networks and IM clients. Even the priest at the wedding shared the funny moment with the couple and during the ceremony said,

“If it’s official on Facebook, it’s official in my book.”

Facebook, that has now passed the 350 million users milestone has fast evolved into a one stop place for just about every bit of information that a user might wish to provide to his friends and family. From, christening, graduation to wedding and job promotions, there is nothing that, Facebook hasn’t seen posted by users.
