Good news for the adventurer in you who feared entrapment in the cold. Thanks to a some wise guys, the world shall witness its first heated wetsuit called the Rip Curl H-Bomb suit. And it has been tested in the sea inside the Arctic Circle!
The functioning is simple. The suit uses two rechargeable batteries and the material is heat stretchable. Heating takes place with the aid of carbon-fibre coils that run up the back of the suit and warm up the surfer’s core. In other words, the temperature can be controlled in a similar way to an electric blanket. But there is one drawback. The batteries are slim but heavy so movement of the wearer gets limited.
The makers believe that the H-Bomb suit will open up possibilities for people living in extreme cold weather. Expected to go on sale for 500 pounds, the suit is already drawing a lot of attention across the world.
