The founder of Wikipédia, Jimmy Wales, affirmed once that Search is the fundamental part of the infrastructure of the internet. Which is now “broken”. While Wales debates the concept of a open source search tool, Dr. it Reefs C. Berkan from Hakia he believes that the “fixing” is in the semantics.

The CEO and founder of the search engine based on the meaning believes that the future of the search is in understanding what the user wants, instead of fishing results with keyword combinations.

The semantics tools are one of the alternatives for the search options that are now being thrown in the web. While many of the new competitors are focused in improving UIs, groups or data from the tools already existent, the semantic search is maybe the most technological approach of the problem.

Hakia is based on a database – always in expansion – with combined concepts that it will help complex searches and even subjects based on the requests that now the systems don’t address correctly.

It tries to antecipate the questions that could be done concerning any subject researched to elaborate the result. Therefore, it presents a better performance for complete questions typed in the search field.

Hakia still gets to associate a word the other ones. If the internet user researches for “car more bought”, it is capable to associate the term “car” to companies such as Toyota or Ford.
