Given the current scenario, where cities are fast turning into concrete jungles, Toronto Botanic Gardens is a sight for sore eyes. The major attractions are the themed gardens, Dailia Daze and summer showcase for birds. The wooden holed heart structure that appears above is actually birdhouse design that bagged the first position in a competition organized by Toronto Botanical Gardens.
It was a part of fund-raising scheme. The competition looked for birdhouses that encouraged nesting and provie shelter to migrating birds. Kind thought indeed. Well, it was Josh Coulas’ Heart for Bluebirds that stood exceptional amongst all. Other contest entries too were unusual.
Through this event, Toronto Botanical Gardens intended to bring forth the plight of the birds. It seeks to increase awareness among visitors regarding the perils of deforestation and Global warming. The problem is we know most of things, but we are way too indifferent towards our surrounding to bring out any change.
