It seems Heath Ledger’s last film ‘The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus’ which was completed posthumously after his sudden unexpected tragic death is facing post production distribution blues. The young actor’s role as Joker in The Dark Knight won him accolades at Academy awards too. The Dark Knight became one of the biggest blockbuster and a box office hit all over the world.
It is indeed intriguing that Heath Ledger’s last film should be facing such financial and distribution issues in US and UK just because it is an experimental fantasy and not usual winning formula film. ‘The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus’ directed by Terry Gillian is an interesting fantasy tale of a travelling circus magician who has a pact with the Devil. Heath Ledger is one of the central mysterious characters of the film. After Heath Ledger’s sudden death Terry Gillian roped in Colin Farrell, Jude Law and Johnny Depp as different transformations of personality of the character and completed the film.
Maybe this buzz before the release of the film will save the day for the film. Heath Ledger deserves last ovation for his last act and maybe another posthumous award. Brilliant actors are not born every day.
