One of the best known Korean companies in the field of portable media players, iRiver has introduced the its very first high definition portable media player, the iRiver Smart HD. This all new portable media player the world’s MKV MP4 Player that also provides high definition video playback. The iRiver Smart HD was first unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show 2010 (CES) as a concept MP4 player with HD video capabilities.

The all new iRiver Smart HD features a 3.5 inch display screen and can play back MP4 and MKV videos at 720P and also supports various other formats. The device has also been given the capability to play Mpeg4, XVID, WMV, H.264 videos without having to add any additional codec support, along with the drag and drop feature. The Smart HD also comes with SD memory card support, wherein the storage capacity of the device can be easily increased to a cool 32GB. The upper end version of the iRiver Smart HD portable media player called, Wifi + DMB 16GB will cost US$31o, and the most basic version of the device will cost $204 with a total storage capacity of 8GB.
