One of the stark competitors to the much beloved, Apple iPad, has been rumored to be the tablet device from Hewlett Packard, called HP Slate. However, for some time now, the existence of this device was shrouded in mystery much like the case was with the iPad. Now, the curtains have finally lifted and the world has been given a sneak peek into the HP Slate.
This all new tablet device from HP is believed to be priced at around $546, which is quite less than the prices slated for the iPad. The above mentioned price should not be taken at face value, as HP has so far not officially declared the price or the complete specifications of the device. The hardware of the HP Slate could very well include an Intel Atom processor, one USB port, a memory card reader and a camera located at the back of the device. So far, the official launch time period for the HP Slate is said to be the month of June this year in the U.S and the device could very well be introduced in the European markets by the month of September 2010.
