HP on Monday unveiled the 10.2 inch Compaq Mini 700 netbook in Europe. The netbook strikingly resembles the HP Mini 1000 presently available in United States in screen resolution and uses the same Atom CPU. Powered by a 3-cell lithium-polymer battery, the gadget slots in a 1.6 GHz processor, using an Intel Atom CPU together with GMA950 graphics processor, with 1 GB of RAM.
Mini 700 Netbook also features 2-in-1 memory card reader, 1024×600 resolution display, Wi-Fi module, Bluetooth, HSDPA network access, an integrated webcam and microphone, 1.8 inch, 60 GB, 4,200RPM hard disk drive and two USB 2.0 ports. That’s not all; the netbook comes with a pre-loaded Windows XP home.
Sounds impressive, isn’t it! Though Mini 700 resembles HP Mini 1000 in appearance, the latter offers 8GB or 16GB solid state drives, not counting the 60GB hard drive.
