
One of the biggest smart phone manufacturers, HTC Corp. (High Tech Computer) has now come with a highly impressive and drop dead gorgeous smart phone, called the HTC HD2. HTC has been known to produce some of the most sophisticated smart devices and recently, the company has got the spotlight, for the Google Nexus One. But, how would the HTC HD2 fair in an ever evolving and extremely competitive smart phone market? Well, it’s up to the users’ choice actually, but there are certain aspects of the device, that could lead to a less than expected sales figures.
The HTC HD2 is by all means a very good looking device and is considered to be the best among all current generation Windows Mobile powered smart phones. The device sports a 4.3 inch capacitive touch screen with a 480 x 800 pixels WVGA resolution. Powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and running Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional edition, the HD2 is be mobile powerhouse. The HD2 sports a 5 mega pixel camera and provides incredible VGA video at 30 fps. It is also a social networking intensive platform, as the device is embedded with a variety of widgets, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube client.
However, one if the biggest downsides to the HTC HD2 its operating platform. The Windows Mobile 6.5 OS that runs on the device is soon going to be replaced by an all new Windows Phone 7 series and the sad part being that, the OS cannot be upgraded to the new one. This factor alone would make the HTC HD2 obsolete the Windows Phone 7 series hit the markets. Now, if you aren’t exactly bothered by the operating system limitations, then the HD2 is a perfect device for you. But in case, if you are looking forward to Windows Phone 7 series, then you need to do some serious thinking, in regards to investing in the HTC HD2.
