One of the biggest mobile device manufactures in the world, HTC has stated its intentions of designing and developing a brand new tablet PC that, it hopes would be a viable competitor to Apple’s highly anticipated tablet, iSlate that is expected to hit the U.S markets on January 26th, 2009. The news came from the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), that is largely dominated by smart phones, netbooks and other state of the art consumer electronics.
HTC Corporation has been in the spotlight, since the news of Google’s Nexus One smart phone broke on the internet and the fact that, HTC will be manufacturing it. The company is already well known and immensely popular in the field of mobile devices, especially the touch enabled smart phones. The Nexus One is all set to be launched on January 5th, 2010 and Google is said to have scheduled an Android press conference for which the invites have already been dispatched.
Sources close to HTC have confirmed that, the company has infact designed a few tablet models in collaboration with Google and one of these models is known to have the Google Chrome OS platform. If and when HTC builds an Android powered tablet, the device will most likely have Qualcomm processors, would most definitely be touch enabled and could also incorporate the latest software from Adobe Inc.
