HTML support, a concept alien to Microsoft for a very long time, is now rumored to be making headway with the company, as many speculate that, the expected introduction of the all new Internet Explorer 9 at the MIX 2010 conference, could witness the assimilation of HTML support into IE 9. The conference is known to become the platform for the presentation of open web standards to be adopted by Microsoft, that would include presentations on HTML5 and SVG vector graphics standard.
Microsoft Corporation has long been criticized for keeping a blind eye to the open web standards and as more and more companies begun adopting the new web standards, Microsoft chose to keep on track with its traditional operating procedures. This lack of support for the much empathized open web standards have attributed to the immense success enjoyed by other web browsers, such as the likes of Firefox, Chrome, and Opera, that have not only embraced these new protocols, but have been well known to be more open to the developers than the Internet Explorer series.
Currently, Microsoft offers the developers toolkits, with which they can create applications for the internet it has been a common speculation, that these toolkits offered to the developers are designed by Microsoft to entice developers’ interest in Microsoft’s cloud computing platform. If and when the HTML5 standards are incorporated in the new proposed IE 9, then it would greatly enhance the user experience, as the new standard will enable them to surf the web, with greater compatibility for the web pages, regardless of the web browsers in use.
