
Hugh Hefner, the Playboy founder is selling his pair of ultra-luxurious Mercedes Benz 600 Pullman limousines, the 1969 and 1979 models. The sale is being organized by a collector in New Zealand. The 21-ft. long limos were manufactured by the Mercedes factory in Stuttgart with a limited number of 140.
The 600 Pullman with rare 6 door configuration is last of the hand-built Mercedes models. Some of the famous personalities like the Pope, Coco Chanel, John Lennon, Jack Nicholson, Aristotle Onassis, Elvis Presley and others preferred for their mode of transport.At the center door, both the cars are painted black and feature forward facing seats. Besides, they also have other similar features.
Both have a hydraulically operated reclining seat and curtains at the rear compartment. In addition to tinted glass, tons of chrome and wood paneling, there is a soundproof glass center division with an intercom system, which is used for communicating with the chauffer. The only difference between the two limos is that the 1969 model is finished in black leather and features a refrigerated bar cabinet. On the other hand, the 1971 model has red leather and a built in television. However, both the luxurious cars are offered at a price of $165,000.
