Hype Gallery Creates Hype with Striking Poster

Hype Gallery has launched a shocking new promotional poster with the ad copy screaming ‘Your Artworks. Your Films’ and Exhibit Yourself” with a half naked man tearing his skin from the front. One couldn’t really make out the logic behind a visual that is as striking as this, with the skin ripped off from the body and perhaps this is meant to convey the underlying message that the gallery provides an opportunity to reveal more about your tastes in movies and art.

The idea of tearing your chest open to reveal what movies you like might be a novel and shocking idea but it also captures the attention of the reader. Created by the Publicis Conseil, Paris the creative director Olivier Altmann has made sure the message gets across even to the most naive.

The copy isn’t as strong as the creative is and somehow it distracts the reader from the actual message. Perhaps the copy could have been a little more to the point. Nevertheless, it is a great ad poster and the company will surely get a lot of attention thanks to the controversial image. Perhaps the agency employed shock advertising methods.
