Wear these Self Energy Converting Sunglasses designed by Hyun-Joong Kim and colleague Kwang-Seok Jeong and you will not only protect your eyes from harsh sun rays but you can also convert the solar energy into electricity. This electricity in turn could be used to charge your iPods, phones and other tiny gadgets.
Who would have known that wearing sunglasses not only meant protecting your eyes from sunrays but also meant that you could use these harmful rays for something productive and green like charging gadgets! It sounds incredible but the sunglasses come with cheap organic dye and nanotechnology which help convert solar energy into electrical energy. Looks like we shall no more have to worry about running out of battery again when the sun shines bright.
However, don’t expect it to provide any energy during the cold long months when it rains and remains cloudy all the time. And also, it still is a concept and we do not know if this will ever be manufactured commercially, and when it does enter the market, the style may go out of fashion. So, there really are a number of issues with the Sunglasses. Nevertheless, a great and fun idea, I must say.
