IBM To Design Chip Based On Human Brain

Finally the dream of creating a computer which works like human brain may come true, if things go well. IBM has sought the help of the US government to manufacture electronic circuits that function just like the brain. The project involves professionals from the field of neurobiologists, psychologists, material scientists etc.

US defense agency Darpa has granted $4.9million for the project and IBM intends to finish the project with flying colors. The chip could be used for image recognition, to analyze large-scale data, to make decisions etc. In this project algorithms are being considered first and later would come the problems though usually the case is otherwise.

The human brain inspired computer may just turn into reality and the future looks promising for those who have been nurturing this dream. This could help in the field of security, logistics, medicine, technology and practically everywhere decision making, reasoning, perception and recognition are required. There has been no date set for the unveiling of this supercomputer though.
