Your folks, friends, spouse, waiters, and even strangers on the road seem to have a vendetta against your love for food and are out to get you. Even in your nightmares, the word diet is whishpered tauntingly till you wake up screaming. But no matter how hard you try, it is so difficult to keep track of the calories you are gulping in.

Forget taking help from dieticians and get yourself some smart cutlery. The IC3 cutlery system is a concept that has a computerised handle which measures food taken in. The handle can be attached to your knife, spoon or fork so that the option of cheating is available only if you decide to eat with your bare fingers. The fork, spoon and knife have different functions with the first measuring the nutrient value, the spoon weighing the food and the knife making sure the temperature of the food is just right. Designed by Alex Schulz, IC3 is on display at the DesignParcours Munich 2008 exhibition.

All the information taking in by the cutlery is compiled into a report once the meal is over. Apart from the weight conscious, IC3 could also bring a wave of change diabetics or people having to follow a certain diet for medical reasons.
