The Pitti Immagine Uomo fashion show which took place at Florence, Italy between 16th and 19th of June this year surprised visitors with the artistic presentation of different fashion labels. No doubt, the new men’s clothe brands on show generated interest. However, it was Ilaria Marelli’s fascinating presentation that stole the show.

The Fortezza da Basso which was home to the 76th Pitti Immagine Uomo show included an exhibit design by Marelli which was titled the Secret Garden. The designer transformed the place, starting with the entrance, into an ethereal garden that showed off hillsides sprouting with strange trees and gardens of alien-like flora. The spaces were done up in flamboyant colours and the designs, though inspired by nature, carried an unnatural look which was still beautiful. One of the installations hanging from the ceiling appears as a chandelier made completely from petals which seem to float freely in the air. Another installation that catches the eye is the bamboo Stonehenge thrusting forth from its own rocky earth.

The New Beat(s) event, which was a part of the Pitti Immagine Uomo, caters solely for the presentation of young talent. Marelli, though, is no newcomer to the field and was even awarded the Milanadonna award last year.
