If you had ever dreamed of being an astronaut, it might be easier for you in your country than in China. Chinese rules have made it mandatory for astronauts to meet standards which are closer to perfection. This idea of perfection includes that the patient does not have any history of illnesses in the past 3 generations. Apparently, the astronauts also need to take their wives’ permission before heading to the space.
I wonder why they are so sure about their astronauts’ gender and sexual orientations. If the wannabe astronaut has a scar, or even a tooth cavity he won’t be allowed as they feel it might start bleeding. The funniest has to be the part where they require the astronaut to not have any bad breath in order to qualify.
This and other stringent restrictions placed on future astronauts may actually curb the vibrant space research program of China. The Chinese always take things a little too far, and this is just one example. Meanwhile somewhere else, a boy was beaten to death as part of treatment in one of the Chinese Internet De-addiction centres.
