India is known for all the strange things in the world. Snake charmers, filthiest of the slums and also, lately, the cheapest of the gadgets. We have seen how Indians managed to manufacture a car which costs a little under $2,000. We also saw and were astonished when the Indians announced that a $10 phone was manufactured. Now, the latest stunt is that of a $10 laptop. It really doesn’t make sense if the laptop were not made of pages and pencils.
In fact, there is no way a laptop could be manufactured in $10, even if that meant reassembling all the spare parts you would find in the junkyard of Indian Silicon Valley. However, we may have to wait and watch before disregarding these weird claims and having a nice laugh at the cost of those who claim it’s possible.
Apparently, the laptop costs $20 but if the computer were to be mass manufactured, the cost would come down to $10. Well, we can imagine all the starved and the poor of India using laptops, if such claims were to come true. On the other hand, it definitely would help children from lower classes who cannot afford even the basic laptops.
