One of the biggest computer processors manufacturing company, Intel Corporation has announced that, it is the process of introducing all new, cutting edge six core processors for the high end desktop computers and servers and the chips can be expected to hit the markets in the first half of 2010. the new six core chips will be significantly advance than the current generation quad core processors, as they will be highly energy efficient and would also provide a higher rate of performance.

The all new six core processors have been designed and developed on the Westmere platform, that is one of the newest technologies, Intel is working on. Also the new chips will be composed 1.17 billion transistors and each of the chip will have an impressive 12MB of Cache. The one downside of the new six core processors will be that, the chips will not come with an embedded graphics capabilities, meaning that, the users will most definitely have to purchase a stand alone graphics card.

So far, Intel has only envisioned the six core chips for the desktops that would be designed especially for gaming purposes and these processors will be known as Gulftown.
