The geek shall inherit the earth and every geek knows, mostly because he shall play an important part in it, that one day in the not too distant future there would be robots of all types to serve humans. Imagine having your very own robot gym instructor, or robot teacher (makes school sound almost interesting, right?)

The International Robot Exposition (IREX) going on at the Tokyo Big Sight gives us a taste of what the future holds for us. Several companies involved with robotics and electronics are participating at this years event and we have selected some of the best pictures from the event for you. It appears as though each robot surpasses expectations and turn out to be better than the previous one.

Featured on top is cuddly Taizo , from General Robotix, that has been attempting to lure visitors into taking up exercising with him. RAMeX from NT Research caught the visitor’s eyes for her strong resemblance to the Terminator cyborg and HIRO by Kawada Industries gained attention for looking beyond mean and sleek. Other companies that participated include Yaskawa Electric Corporation, Fuji Heavy Industries (Subaru), Neko-Tencho, Tosy, Yujin, Alderbaran Robotics, Fujitsu, and more. The expo will be on till the 28th of this month.
