Internet Movies The Latest Trend

How much is too much when it comes to watching something over the net? Forget about whatever sleazy thought is running through your mind, this discussion is only about the length of internet movies.

When the internet first started becoming popular, it was still not at a point where full length movies could be watched online. Slow internet connections and the myth that individuals do not have the attention span to watch anything longer than about 30 seconds led to the production of net ‘clips’. With the development of technology and the internet being accessed by a larger clientele, the possibility of producing films for the internet has become plausible. TV shows are being accessed online by viewers who find it easier to reach over for a system than for a TV remote.

There are a number of internet sites, like blip.tv, which offer video clips that run to almost 15 minutes in length. Although this may seem long for something referred to as a clip, site owners are finding that users care more about quality than the quantity of these clips. The latest trend now is the production of shows solely and especially for transmission over the internet. How times have changed!
