With various studies demonstrating that mental activities can spur brain change, it would be good to see a comparison showing which are the most efficient and effective. A study last year on Improving Fluid Intelligence by Training Working Memory (PNAS April 2008) recorded increases in mental agility (fluid intelligence) of more than 40% after 19 days of focused brain training. That's hard to beat!

I just love this post. Honest! It makes me smile. Why? Because this is great news for me. I am 46 years old. It's been 2 months now that my work was changed from teaching children to surfing the internet for hours. At first, I thought my brain was not functioning as fast as it used to be. I even sought brain booster vitamins. But then later on, I realized that my brain is working out fine. And I should say, in tiptop condition. Thank you for this post. It just confirmed that I'm doing the right thing. :-)
