Bulgari, a well known name in jewelry designs has recently launched a collaboration with Anish Kapoor, a well known name in architecture and design. Bulgari combines unexpected whimsical materials with precious metals and stones and Kapoor on the other hand is credited with redefining contemporary sculpture. A brilliant example of excellence meeting excellence!
Kapoor designed the latest edition of B.zero1 line for Bulgari which is celebrating its tenth anniversary. It is an informal yet elegant jewelry collection that is designed around the spiral motif. A whopping 1.5 million pieces have already been sold to date. It is one of those must haves Bulgari lines.
The ring features the iconic spring and Tubogas- inspired coil and perfectly suits the women who appreciate the glitz. This special edition ring comes in two ceramic variations. The cylindrical body is made of either black or white ceramic. It is contained within two pink rings which are both engraved with BVLGARI’s distinctive double logo. This new B.zero 1 ring is available in all Bulgari stores this month at a retail of $890. Additionally Bulgari continues to offer other versions of the ring in pave diamonds, white gold and yellow gold.
Anish Kapoor, the designer is based in London and his rings will serve as an inspiration for a sculpture the architect will create to be auctioned this spring. The proceeds will benefit Save the Children’s Rewrite the Future Campaign. Kapoor is a name known best for his explorations of “the Void” and his experiments with color, scale and unusual materials. He is extremely talented and possesses an unusual vision to see objects in a different light. He is a recipient of a lot of awards and honors and has extensively travelled around the world. Marsyas (Tate Modern, London, 2002), Sky Mirror (Rockefeller Center, New York, 2006), and Svayamb (Royal Academy, London, 2009) are among his noteworthy commissions. Currently his exhibition Memory is in Guggenheim Museum in New York through March 28, 2010.
