Roland Hutchinson from Geeky Gadgets just couldn’t get the right angle to watch videos on his iPhone. It m just have been a frustrating experience and we also know that necessity is the mother of all inventions. With that in mind, Roland decided to do something about the iPhone prop and this is what he got – The Pencil iPhone Stand.

Though it may seem naive to most of us, this iPhone stand seems to be quite effective in placing the gadget precariously, so as to not let it fall down while watching videos. All Roland used were 4 pencils and a few elastic bands. This works well with the 2G iPhone. However, for the iPhone 3G, one may need 5 pencils due to the extra thickness.

The Pencil iPhone Stand is simple to build, Roland assures and of course it can easily be dismantled. All you would need to do is strap two pencils together and use an elastic band to do so, and add two more pencils to make a triangle. The final pencil can be added for the back support. Make sure to use a pencil with a rubber if you are using a smooth surfaced table.

Thanks Roland
