E-book readers are the demand of the season with even more people opting to carrying the small gadgets and choosing download e-books instead of going for the paper versions. iriver Story e-book reader may not have been available at the IFA launch but viewers got to check it out when it made its first appearance at Berlin.
The iriver Story takes after the Kindle 2 in appearance but that may be where the similarities end. With a 6 inch diagonal display and e-ink of 8 greyscales, the e-book reader also has a QWERTY style keyboard that allows users to take notes and make searches. The reader is compatible only with DRM content via Adobe and does not have Wi-Fi but the 32GB memory can be extended via SD cards. iriver Story also has a Comic Viewer which allows users to view images (jpg, bmp, gif).
E-ink technology used in the reader extends the battery power at length; apparently, the reader can be used for 20 hours on a single charge. iriver Story comes with a headphone jack and has a mono speaker for audio files (mp3, wma).
