After slamming the ‘evil’ West, Robert Mugabe seems to have opened the gates to ‘benevolent’ East for trade and investment in Zimbabwe. Of course Robert Mugabe had no option but to take help of China to retain power and survive the international sanctions against Zimbabwe. China was more than eager to step on the rich soil and reap profits from its resources like platinum, diamond etc.

It is not just tale of Zimbabwe, China has stepped into help many troubled nations in the African continents but instead of supplying humanitarian aid it is helping the controlling power with military aid of sophisticated weaponary for a price. The price is the rich natural resources of the continent and the cheap labour for its mining and other projects. In fact Zimbabwe has also offered China farming lands and in the times of food crisis it is a sensible investment to make.

According to official estimates there are some 800 Chinese firms controlling 900 oil productions, mining and other projects. China is also flooding African markets with cheap fake Chinese products while exploiting cheap labor. China seems to be the next colonizer of African continent and it will not commit errors which West committed. It will be a more oppressive and smart colonizer which will literally bleed Africa of all its resources with a smile of benevolence.
