India is perhaps on a very long path full of bumpers. Well, that is the only reason for the shockers one after another that we get thesedays via the daily news. This time it was the arrest of the alleged masterminds behind the Malegaon blasts last month.
The entire nation sat tight-lipped as members of a right wing Hindu organisation that goes by the name of Abhinav Bharat were sent to police custody. Like you even I heard of this obscure group for the first time. Apparently, it was formed in 2006 to help train Hindus to fight terrorism. The members dream to rebuild India around Hindu culture.
If that was not enough, the president of Abhinav Bharat, Himani Savarkar, a grandma kind of a woman made my jaw drop. Believe it or not, but the lady went on to defend her co-members on national television by saying, (let me quote her)
“It’s not true that they (Abhinav Bharat members) were behind the bomb blasts. But let’s assume as if they were. Then what is the big deal. After all, Hindu men are not effeminate. They can defend their honour. These blasts would just be the reaction to how they (Islamic terrorists) have troubled us for such a long time.”
I seriously did not know how to react to this one. Is the woman denying the allegations or is she glorifying as well as justifying the heinous act of her co-believers by calling it ‘reaction’. Newton would have been sorry at such an interpretation of his third law of force.
