One had never imagined solar power to move so elegantly and straight into our homes. Gone are the days when we saw the sun as just a natural water heater. Designers Yon-Hui Kim and Eun-Kyung Kim have surprised one and all with a chic and smart solar Vertical Lamp.
What they did is actually quite simple. An average vertical blind was outfitted with special mini photovoltaics and LED pixels and then the creative juices were allowed to flow freely. Confused? Don’t be. The 2-D lamps in reference are brilliant only because of their simplicity.

During the day the miniature solar pads absorb the sun’s energy and at night the same stored energy is used to illuminate the lighting pixels. In layman’s terms, you just have to close the blinds to ‘turn on’ the lights.
And there is a huge variety for you to choose from. Check out the table lamp, floor lamp and chandelier that can add a lot of eco-drama to your decor, besides bringing down the electricity bill, of course!
