The Kitchen Assistant Robot has been designed by Panasonic and IRT Research Institute, The robot is aimed to provide relief to those who hate washing dish. It comes with 18 different sensors which allow the robot to manipulate the dishes based on their sizes and shapes. It can even pick a single object and the prototype of the robot looks rather promising.
The robot is expected to enter mainstream market in about 5 years. Looks like we shall soon see robots in every sphere of life just as we see the Internet now. Perhaps, Internet and Robotics will change the world completely and result in a culture which can’t exactly be imagined at a time like this. It would be interesting to have robots that assist in home making and maintaining as that time could be devoted to something worthwhile.
For now, the Kitchen Assistant Robot is in the process of being mass manufactured for us the lazy ones to sit back and watch the dishes being cleaned. It definitely is a dream-come- true as all of us without an exception hate cleaning and washing dishes.
