The air-conditioner industry has kept its relation with innovation pretty low. After home appliance makers threw in energy efficiency, great designs and claims of bringing in pollution free air, there wasn’t really much to expect. I believed so too until I laid my eyes on Friedrich’s lineup of colorful air conditioners.

The knockout feature here is the color paradise that is the interchangeable Skittles front panels. This is one appliance that subtly tells you beige, off-white and black shades look best with funeral dresses and not home décor. The Kühl offers seven choices of colors including blood red, navy blue and candy pink. It comes with a satin silver front plate by default which can be changed for an extra $50.

Well, I am little disappointed to learn that all seven plates will not ship with the air-conditioner. How nice it would be to team up one’s appliance with home décor each time I changed my wall paint. The makers also engineered the product with both cooling and heating options to make it usable during winters too. it is available with any Friedrich dealer for a price of $969. I doubt if the color palatte is really worth the premium one pays for it.
