When you are walking in amazing locations of the city, the unpredictable downpour dampens your spirits leaving you in lurch with confusion weather to stand still or run get drenched. Thus, you need not lament over your forgetfulness in spite of the forecast of rain. Russian Designer Mikhail Belyaev makes pedestrians comfortable with an automatic umbrella that spreads positioning itself from lamp posts.
The designer Mikhail Belyaev after watching people get wet on the road near an illuminating lamppost, and their effort to hide from the rain made him to find a solution. The lampbrella can be installed in all places where many people walk without large trees.
The standard street lamp can be fixed with canopy of an umbrella which could be opened or closed by a built-in electric motor. When rain starts sensors ensure umbrella to open up for the pedestrians to give shelter. Motion Sensor of 360 degree on street lamp detects if anyone is using the device to get protection from downpour. The canopy will be closed after three minutes if nobody uses the umbrella. The umbrella ensures people’s safety with its low speed while lifting up and closing of the canopy.
As there is earth connection it would not be grounded from lightning strike. It provides enough shelter for many people with its 7feet 2 inches diameter. It may pose problems for taller pedestrians as it has been installed at 6ft 5in above the ground. This is a genius concept design very useful in urban areas and at present there are no executable plans regarding production of lampbrella.
