
Hilly terrains are the ideal terrain for four stroke vehicle campaigns. The agency, d4 comunicaciones, Guatemala which has created new campaign for Land Rover has done precisely that but the actual terrain for this tough vehicle is shown to be a good road winding through the hills. So it doesn’t really live up to the tagline “Any Terrain is a Game”. Yes, it does show the gradient and uphill and downhill challenges.
The copy is nice. The mountainous terrain and the awesome road are indeed tempting for adventurous souls and one would want to ‘go beyond’ as Land Rover’s logo says. But another drawback of the ad copy is there is no sign of the Land Rover on this road. Has it driven across the mountain? Or is daring to embark on the journey? Of course one can assign another meaning to the copy. Maybe they want to suggest that for Land Rover all terrains seem as smooth as these roads. Well, it does take effort to make sense of it all. But the meaning is not totally lost either.
