Launch of Nexus One Delayed in China

Google’s dispute with the Chinese government is increasing taking a toll in its other business too. The launches of two Android phones have been postponed by the search engine giant, Google in China due to the present conflict.

After the cyber attack of the Gmail account and the hacking of it, Google had decided to withdraw the censorship of its search engine in China. It had even threatened to withdraw all business with the world’s fastest growing internet industry. Although both the parties are in the discussion to come to terms with this conflict, it is rather understood that until it is resolved, new business would have to wait.

China Unicom postponing the launch of android based phone implies how serious Google is regarding this fallout. If Google were to decide not to launch the Android phone in China, the loss would be huge considering that China was the huge market. The spokesperson of Google, Marsha Wang was tight lipped about this entire issue. It’s clear that until the conflict is fully resolved, Google’s various businesses are only bound to suffer further in China. It’s also a huge disappointment to the Chinese population who was eagerly waiting for the Android phones’ release in China.
