Sometimes designers do just the job they are assigned, they design. Call it a blessing or a curse, many of the weird concepts never reach the market and if a company has a lot of fans designing concepts for them, chances are the selected design wins a hell lot of money.
Samsung’s Lavender Cellphone designed by Andrew Kim is one such concept, which may just hit the stores one fine day. The phones designed like a perfume bottle and come with added features such as a camera, bacteria fighting UV light, USB connector, touchscreen, accelerometer, multimedia and other features.
Now, the issue is, Samsung has lately become notorious for launching phones targeted at the fairer sex and in a way being sexist about the whole branding strategy. Hence, the Lavender Cellphone, which obviously is for women, may not be seen as a successful concept by the ones at Samsung. However, there is no reason why men shouldn’t use a phone that smells like or looks like a perfume bottle. All thanks to the perfume plastic dispenser that comes along with it.
